Holland, MI

Our motto: You ain’t much if you ain’t dutch. Don’t worry, you can pretend for a week.

Our first suggestion is to visit the Downtown Holland website, you’ll find events, shopping and restaurant info. If you will be visiting Holland during Tulip Time visit the Tulip Time website for great info.

Below are some of our favorites.

Food

Holland is blessed with so many great restaurants and lots of variety. One of our favorites for breakfast or lunch is DeBoers Bakkerij . You can also catch breakfast at The Windmill on 8th Street, Guests also have many options for lunch. Holland is known for its coffee shops, don’t miss Ferris Coffee, 205 Coffee Bar and Lemonjellos. Simply strolliing down 8th street you will find City Deli, Cranes in the City, Hop Cat just to name a few. Big Lake Brewing is another great choice on 7th St. downtown. They have an outdoor area which is fun to eat in too. Eating on the waterfront is always fun at Boatwerks!

Shopping

We have one of the best Farmers Markets you will find in Michigan, maybe the midwest. This is something you don’t want to miss, especially if you are planning on doing any cooking during your stay. The Holland Farmers Market begins on Wednesday, May 15 and will continue every Wednesday and Saturday through December 21! We also have great shopping in Holland. Many cute boutiques and just a few national chains along 8th Street and surrounding blocks. A casual stroll will unlock some gems. In the winter 8th street has NO SNOW. Holland installed heated sidewalks so shopping is always easy. Honestly there are so many gems. I will link a few of our favorites but I’m sure you’ll find your own.
